New patients and emergencies welcome.

Whatever brought you here, we can help.
Most people searching for a dentist downtown are in one of these situations.
You're new to Vancouver and need to find a dentist.
You've just become eligible under the Canadian Dental Care Plan and want to use it.
You've moved downtown and your old clinic is now inconvenient.
You work downtown and want a clinic close enough to visit on a lunch break.
It's been longer than you'd like since your last checkup.
You want a second opinion on treatment another dentist has recommended.
No judgment, whatever the gap has been.
Plenty of our patients arrive after several years away from a dentist. We're not interested in making anyone feel bad about that.
We examine, we explain what we find, and we separate what genuinely needs attention from what can wait.
Crowns and bridges
A crown covers and strengthens a tooth too damaged for a filling. A bridge replaces one or more missing teeth using the teeth on either side for support. Ask us about less invasive alternatives before committing to a crown.
New patients
No judgment, whatever the gap has been.
No surprises. Here's exactly how a first appointment at Lux Dental runs.

1
A full examination
We check your teeth, gums, bite, and soft tissues, and take any x-rays needed to see below the surface. If you have records or recent images from a previous dentist, bring them or ask that they be sent over — it saves repeating work.
2
A cleaning
Unless there's something urgent to deal with first, your first visit usually includes a professional cleaning with our hygiene team.
3
A conversation, not a sales pitch
We explain what we found in plain language and separate it into what needs attention now, what should be watched, and what can wait. You'll leave understanding the actual state of your mouth.
4
A written plan and clear costs
If treatment is needed, you get a written plan with costs based on the BCDA Fee Guide, and our administration team reviews your insurance coverage with you before anything is scheduled.
What to bring
- Your dental insurance information, or your CDCP details if you're covered
- Any records or x-rays from a previous dentist
- A list of any medications you're taking
- Your questions, including the ones you think are silly
Making care accessible
Clear about costs, before treatment starts.
Most people who put off seeing a dentist do it because they don't know what it will cost. We'd rather deal with that upfront than have you avoid the appointment.
We follow the BCDA Fee Guide
The British Columbia Dental Association publishes a suggested fee guide each year covering over 1,400 dental treatments. Dentists in BC are not required to follow it — many charge above it. Lux Dental follows the BCDA Fee Guide, and we routinely review our fees against other practices in British Columbia and the surrounding area.
Canadian Dental Care Plan accepted
We accept the Canadian Dental Care Plan. Eligible patients can access government-funded dental coverage, and if you're unsure whether you qualify, ask us — our administration team can help you understand where you stand.
Direct billing on most insurances
We bill most major dental insurance plans directly, so you aren't paying the full amount upfront and waiting for reimbursement.
An honest note on estimates
Not all procedures are listed as professional fees. Some costs vary based on associated lab work, such as crowns and other dental appliances, and on the complexity of the treatment required. For those, the accurate answer comes from an examination rather than a price list. We give you the number in writing before you commit.
Understanding your own coverage
We think it's essential that patients understand their own dental insurance policy, and it's worth knowing that not all procedures are necessarily covered under any given plan.
Our Dental Administration Team is here to help you understand your coverage and get the most from it. Bring your plan details to your first visit and we'll go through it with you.
