If you want veneers but you're worried about your real teeth, read this
You were told a crown is your only option for a damaged or worn molar.
There's now an alternative that keeps far more of your natural tooth structure.
Your existing crown is failing, sensitive, or showing a dark line at the gum.
A failing crown doesn't always mean more drilling. In many cases MINISH can replace it.

You want to repair a chipped or cracked tooth, but you don't want it shaved down to a stub.
MINISH bonds over the damage without sacrificing healthy structure around it.
If any of this is you, keep reading.
The next section explains the three things most patients aren't told before they agree to a crown.
What MINISH actually is
Porcelain about as thin as a contact lens
Traditional veneers and crowns often need 0.5 to 1.2 mm of your tooth removed first. MINISH is just 0.1 to 0.2 mm thick, so we keep far more of your natural enamel and bond the porcelain over the top.
It bonds to your tooth to become a single, unified structure that is strong, sealed, and indistinguishable from natural enamel.

Molar MINISH, engineered for back teeth.
Originally designed for front-tooth aesthetics, MINISH has evolved to handle the demands of back teeth, the teeth that take the brunt of biting, chewing, and grinding.
Molar MINISH is the version that replaces crowns. Same precision. Same enamel preservation. Built for chewing force.
MINISH vs. traditional crown: see the difference.
Same goal: a restored tooth. Two very different paths to get there.
Factor | Minish | Traditionalcrown |
|---|---|---|
Strength | Bonds to become one with the tooth | Cemented over a reduced tooth |
Reversibility | Conservative, your tooth is preserved | Permanent, cannot be undone |
Anesthesia required | Often not needed | Typically required |
Tooth structure removed | 0.1–0.2mm (often none) | 1.5–2mm (most of enamel) |
Number of visits | Usually 2 | Usually 2–3 |
Sensitivity risk | Minimal | Moderate to high |
Appearance | Translucent, mirrors natural enamel | Opaque, often visible at gumline |
Expected lifespan | 10–15+ years with care | 10–15 years, then re-prep required. |
Future treatment options | Full range remains available | Limited, usually another crown |
Both restorations last about the same length of time. Only one keeps your tooth.
How MINISH works, step by step.
From your first consultation to your final bonded restoration, usually completed in two visits over 2–4 weeks.
Free consultation & 3D scan
We assess your bite, tooth structure, and goals with a fast, accurate digital 3D scan, no goopy moulds. You'll leave with a clear picture of whether MINISH is right for you, a treatment plan, and a personalized quote.

Custom design at the in-house MINISH Lab
Your restorations are digitally designed and milled with sub-100-micron precision from VITA ceramic crafted in Germany. Every MINISH is custom-made for your specific bite and surrounding teeth.

Minimally invasive preparation
Most MINISH cases need only a light polish of the tooth surface, with little to no drilling and often no anesthesia. If you're replacing an existing crown, we remove the old crown and prepare the tooth with the smallest possible intervention.

Permanent bonding
Your MINISH is permanently bonded to your tooth with a precise adhesive process, so the MINISH and your tooth function as a single, unified structure: strong, sealed, and lifelike.

Walk out and smile
No long downtime. You leave with a restored bite, sealed teeth, and a smile that looks and feels like your own, because most of it still is.
