Surgical dentistry

Dental surgery, handled with precision and care.

No obligation. We'll explain exactly what's involved.

The surgical procedureswe perform.

Tooth extraction

When a tooth cannot be saved — through severe decay, fracture, advanced gum disease, or crowding — removing it is sometimes the healthiest option. We plan every extraction carefully, using imaging to understand exactly what's beneath the gum before we begin, and we talk you through what to expect at every stage including recovery.

Dental implants

A dental implant replaces a missing tooth from the root up. A titanium post is placed into the jawbone to act as an artificial tooth root, and once healed, it supports a permanent replacement tooth. Implants are the closest option available to a natural tooth in both function and appearance.

Gum graft

Receding gums expose the root surface of the tooth, causing sensitivity and, over time, threatening the stability of the tooth itself. A gum graft restores lost gum tissue, covering the exposed root, protecting the tooth, and improving the appearance of your gumline.

Bone graft

Bone grafting rebuilds jawbone that has been lost — usually after a tooth has been missing for some time, or following extraction or advanced gum disease. It's often the step that makes a dental implant possible for a patient who was previously told they didn't have enough bone.

Before any surger

We plan in three dimensions before we begin.

Surgical dentistry is not a place for guesswork. Before any surgical procedure at Lux Dental, we build a complete picture of what's happening beneath the surface — the position of nerves, sinuses, and blood vessels, the density and volume of bone, and the condition of surrounding teeth.

Our clinic is equipped with CBCT 3D imaging on site. We use it for our own surgical planning, and we accept CBCT referrals from other dental practices in Vancouver — which means other dentists send their patients here for imaging.

โ€‹For you, that means the surgery is planned before it starts, and there are fewer surprises for everyone

Consultation and imaging

We examine the area, take the imaging we need, and confirm the diagnosis. You'll leave knowing what the procedure involves, how long it will take, and what recovery looks like.

2
Your treatment plan

We explain your options, including any less invasive alternatives if they exist for your case. You'll receive a written plan and a clear cost breakdown before anything is scheduled.

3
The procedure

Surgery is performed under local anesthesia. Our team will keep you informed throughout, and comfort options are available if you're anxious — tell us in advance and we'll plan for it.

4
Recovery and follow-up
